Content Policy

Dealeats is a community platform. The quality and trustworthiness of the Platform depends on everyone who submits content following these guidelines. This policy applies to all deal submissions, venue edits, and any other content contributed to the Platform.

What Is Allowed

  • Genuine food and drink deals from real venues in Edmonton
  • Accurate deal descriptions including times, days, prices, and restrictions
  • Venue information that the submitter has personal knowledge of
  • Deal updates that correct or improve an existing listing
  • Community confirmations that a deal is still active

What Is Not Allowed

  • Fake, fabricated, or intentionally misleading deals
  • Deals that have already expired, unless clearly marked as historical
  • Duplicate submissions of the same deal for the same venue
  • Spam — multiple nearly identical submissions intended to game visibility
  • Promotional content that disguises advertising as an organic deal
  • Content that contains profanity, harassment, or discriminatory language
  • Personally identifiable information about private individuals
  • Content that violates any applicable law or third-party rights

Business Conduct

Businesses that submit or manage listings agree to:

  • Ensure all deal information is accurate at the time of submission
  • Update or remove listings promptly when deals change or expire
  • Not use the Platform to mislead consumers about pricing or availability
  • Not submit competitor venues or deals without authorization
  • Engage respectfully with community reports and flags

Enforcement

Content Removal

Any content that violates this policy may be removed without notice. This includes individual deals, images, or descriptions.

Account Suspension

Repeated or egregious violations may result in temporary or permanent suspension of your account and any associated business listings.

Permanent Ban

Users or businesses engaged in systematic abuse, fraud, or malicious activity will be permanently banned from the Platform.

Reporting

Users can flag any deal or venue as inaccurate or inappropriate. Our moderation team reviews all reports. If you believe content was removed in error, contact hello@dealeats.ca.
